Harold Edgerton Investigation

Harold Edgerton born april 6th 1903 and died January 4th 1990. He was an american electrical engineer and a photographer Know for his high speed photography. he was the one who created one of the most used techniques for high speed photography which involves multiple flashes going of at the same time so that there is enough light going into the camera in the short amount of time that the shutter is open. this is so that the image has a good exposure and is in focus with the fast moving subject for example a water splashing.  He was the one to create the setup which we used in the studio to photograph the water splashing using a plum to create the splash and working in teams to get the best set up. the way we did it was there was a beam that went across the where the plum would be dropped which would set a timer which will mae the flashes go off which is when you take the image to get the best exposure due to how high the shutter speed is this needs to be a very high amount of lig...

Edweard Muybridge investigation.

Image
Edward Muybridge was born on April 9th 1830 and died may 8th 1904 and is very important in starting the style of motion picture images on of his most famous is of horses running this creates the illusion of it running he did this by putting it into a bowl shaped object which is then span and people can look though slits in the bowl which when span makes the images spin around and as the images are taken at different times that when the images go round past the persons view and it creates a kind of moving image. this is a form of stop motion animation He has photographed many different animals from birds to horses and many others. All of these are displayed the same way using the zoetrope this is the way he animated his images.   The way a  zoetrope  works is by sticking the images in-between the slits in the side where the people look though and then the person looks though the slits and spins th...

Slow mo guys research

Slow Mo guy’s research (Gavin Free) They are a YouTube channel with 10 million subscribes the main camera operator for the slow motion camera (phantom Flex camera)is Gavin Free their cameras are capable of 343,000 frames per second. This is what creates the slow motion because it has many Images taken over a short time this also creates a smooth motion. In 2007 Gavin joined Green Door Films the first production house in Europe to use Phantom slow motion cameras He has worked on such films as Hot Fuzz and Snow white and the huntsman and many other films. Their cameras can be very expensive as they have a lot of technology that isn’t evaluable to everyone this means that they can shoot at a very high frame rate that not every camera can do this is what creates the slow monition as it has main images taken over a very small time this creates the smooth movement need for a slow motion video the problem with shooting the amount of frames they do is ...

Sam taylor Johnson

Sam Taylor Johnson original worked as a sculptor she began working in photography, film and video in the early 1990s. She has been a very successful director as she has directed films such as Fifty Shades of Grey. Her sculptures have featured in loads of art museums and other places such as  Solo exhibitions include Kunsthalle Zurich  (1997) , Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Humlebaek  (1997),  Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington DC  (1999) . She has  also done time-lapse such as many of decay one of the ones we where told to research is of decaying apples. which was shot over many months. as the apple began to rot away. We were told to shoot our own decay time-lapse in which we had to photograph something rotting away or dissaperaring for example ice melting or something else i deseided to do ice melting with something inside that would be reaviled as the ice melted away for example a peeny or a toy or something that would be...

Movement Timeplase

this images was taken out side when it was snowing and then i put them into photoshop and then made them into a 10 second time-lapse. this is of the snow moving and falling down. the images where all taken in manual mode to try and stop the images from auto focusing or changing the white balance and other stuff. if i would do this again i would need a much more sturdy tripod so that the camera dosent shake and move when i take an image. i would also shoot a more sutable subject due to you not really being able to see anything move with in the image. i would shoot a larger subject for example a person or a car. This will make the sequence more sutable as a movement sequence there would be much more movement within the sequence.

Decay timelapse gif

Image
this is a time-lapse I took of a piece of celery in cloudy ice and i photoed it as it melted i took a pictures every 20 minutes and this created the time-lapse above with  more of the celery becoming visible as more of the ice melted. this is a Jepeg Fine and is small format to save space. i also did it in complete manual so the camera didn't adjust to try and fix the white balance or other aspects of the image. if I was to reshoot this time-lapse i would get a more sturdy tripod to make the image less shaky and more clear i would also shoot in raw so i could adjust the exposure and the white balance i chose to do this as it would make the ice melting more interesting as something would come out of the ice as the rest of the ice would disappear leaving just the celery left. to improve this i would use a stronger tripod and make sure nothing can fall into shot like what happend in this one.

After effects

This animation was created using photoshop, aftereffects and premium pro.The original image was created in photoshop so that I could move the parts around during the after effects part of the project i the imported the PhotoShop file into after effects the importing the layers into the scene the next part is opening the transform tab the click the stop watch and move it to the 10 second mark then moving the sky a little to the left and this will create the movement of the sky in the background. Then i imported the plane layer which I put in the top left and then did the same thing and moved it to the bottom right which will create the movement of the plane you an also change the sale so as it flies away it gets smaller.  The final layer that i imported was the shard layer which i made move a very small amount. if i was to do it again i would need to take my own layered images that could work together to create a GIF and i would also practice my editing in after effects so tha...
